Are SMS MCP servers safe to install?
63 of the 67 passed every registry check. Reading the package code or tool descriptions of 47 of them turned up 3 with something to look at, from install scripts to obfuscated code. A clean result means none of our patterns matched, not that a server is safe.
Hosted or local: how do SMS MCP servers run?
36 can run hosted, so you only paste a URL into Claude, Cursor or VS Code. The 40 that run locally ship as 33 npm, 6 PyPI and 1 Docker packages.
How do I install sms in Claude Code?
To connect SMS through sms, run this in a terminal: claude mcp add --transport http sms https://mcp.virtualsms.io/mcp. Its page has the config for other clients too.
Is there an official SMS MCP server?
